finding a product by code

Hi,

wondering if anyone knows if there is a way to find a product using the supplier code or description.

At some time we have copied an existing product (Clavulox) to create a new one, and not changed the code or description. This is creating a problem on the stock order report where that item (called Clavulox in the description) is continually coming up for reorder but we can't find what the product is called in order to rectify it.

Really appreciate any help with this & when we go to electronic ordering we wont be able to manually cross it off the order list.

Kerry - I suspect that I don't understand the problem fully.

If you do have multiple products named 'Clavulox', then you should be able (on the Products screen) to enter Clavulox and see a list of all called Calvulox, then press View to see the top one, and then click the Stock Locations tab to see the stock information, and then press Next to see that for the next Clavulox.

You will be able to see the quantity data for each and will be able to see what the system would like to order (by comparing the stock qty with the ideal and critical quantities).

Next suggestion: Since you say the products are coming up for order, on the Suppliers|Orders screen, you can see the details of each order - and you can click on the product which will take you to the Product Information screen for that product - and this will show the the ID or the product (as well as everything else).

If I have misunderstood, the problem, please yell.

I've had this problem before. We ended up with a rediculous amount of some product because it kept thinking the level was too low and it took some time to figure out what product it was.

I modified the stock reorder report to show the actual product name instead of the reorder description. I'm pretty sure the attached version is what I used. Upload it into your system and run it and see if you can find the product in it with the wrong code.

We don't normally generate orders through the "generate order" button but through the stock order report, but by doing it this way i was able to get a link to the offending product and sort it out!
