Hi all,

I've tried to search through database but haven't had success. Does anyone know if there is a way to generate and export list of new client's emails (with or without other info) in a certain period, for example, all new clients and their emails since Jan 1 2017? I can generate export lists of new clients in a period with contact info with everything except emails!

How are you going?!

Just to be clear.

Did you want a list of new clients (with their email addresses) over a set period?

Did you want the log/copy of all emails sent to new clients in a set period. That is the subject/body/etc of the emails.

Also - what version of OVPMS are you running? Do you have the reports associated with that release loaded?

Hi Adrian, thanks for answering mate, yeh all good here, hope same with you!

Yes the first is correct, I need a list of clients generated in a specific period with their email addresses so I can add these email addresses into Mailchimp. NOT a log/copy of emails sent to clients.

I'm running 1.8, so not the most current, and only have the reports that were downloaded with this update. Do I need to update to 1.9 and download all the reports available (not that I know how to do that yet!)?

Ari - I agree with both you and Adrian:

a) with you - the standard Customer Acquistion report gives the customers' address and phone, but not their email

b) with Adrian - it is not clear whether you want the new customer's email addresses or a log of the emails sent to them.

If the first there then easiest thing would be to enhance the standard Acquisition report to optionally show email addresses rather than address and phone.

If the second there there is a standard 1.9 'Customer Communications and Notes' report that can dump email from the customer communications log, but it has no 'only for customers new since dd/mm/yy' facility.

If you could use an enhanced version of the Acquisition report, please yell.

Ari - your post came in at the same time as I was writing mine. I will build an enhanced version of the Customer Acquisition report for you. I am confident that it will run on 1.8

The enhanced report is attached. I do not have a 1.8 system to test it on, but it runs on 1.9. ENSURE you untick the 'Show only counts' option and tick the 'Show Email Addresses' option.

If it won't run under 1.8 please yell immediately

Tim that's fantastic, thanks so much! That will help me hugely. Just one question, at risk of sounding like a novice (which I am!) - how do I download your enhanced file and keep it in jrxml format. I've tried downloading the file but it saves it as a text file.

Tim just further, I've read through the instructions for downloading reports on the user information, but it still doesn't help me so much, I'm running a Mac, so not sure if this makes a difference, but I don't get to choose the file type to download, it automatically is making it a .txt file.

Also, I don't have the iReport application on my computer, I have downloaded jaspersoft last year as I couldn't find iReport anymore for downloading, but I can't seem to make it work and no longer have it on my computer.

Any tips?

Ok Tim, sorry for all the emails, but I have figured out how to download in jrxml format (I just opened the webpage in Firefox instead of Safari that I was using), but I'm now getting an error message from Open, see the attached screen grab for the details of the error.

Hope it's an easy fix, can you recommend anything?

Ari - you seem to be doing OK in downloading and installing (see http://www.openvpms.org/resources-using for a cheat sheet).

From your screen shot (which says that the jxrml is from a later version than JasperResports 5.6.1), the error is mine - I should have checked what version 1.8 used (if you look in the <OpenVPMS-HOME>/lib folder you will find a jasperreports-5.6.1.jar file - indicating that I should have compiled for this or earlier.

Attached is such a version. Grab this and you should be OK.

Ari - no invoice - I do it to keep the Altzheimers at bay.

If you do want good karma, make an appropriate donation to OpenVPMS via http://www.openvpms.org/donate - I do not have a current 'needs funds' project so just make it a general donation. Peter G will know where to put the money so that it comes in useful in the future.

Followers of this post running 1.9 or later should use the jrxml attached to https://openvpms.atlassian.net/browse/OVPMS-1926 (which should become part of the standard 2.0 and maybe 1.9.3 releases)

If you are running 1.8, use the jrxml attached to http://www.openvpms.org/forum/list-new-clients-emails-period#comment-11416 above.

I will probably upgrade to 1.9 sooner or later, if so, from your last post I will need to use the jrxml file for that release that you gave in the hyperlink, unless it has by then been included in the release - is that correct?

Ari - the current 'latest release' is 1.9.2 - by the time you get to it, 1.9.3 should be out and hopefully the enhanced Customer Acquisition Report should be part of this. If not, having done your upgrade (including installing all the 1.9 document templates), then just edit the Customer Acquisition Report and replace its content from the jrxml attached to the Jira referenced above. [Else yell for help ;-]
