Stock Valuation report issues

Hi,

We've recently upgraded to v1.9.1 and when I've tried to run the Stock Valuation report its blank. This has worked is previous years. I read that this report may need to be reloaded if the recent version has been upgraded and I have tried that but still nothing. Can I please have the link for a compatible report sent through? Is there anything else I may be doing wrong?

Thanks

Trevor

Re: Stock Valuation report issues

The Stock Valuation Report is one of the reports that needs to be updated when you upgrade to 1.9. It is included in the OpenVPMS release distribution, in

reports\Reporting\Reports\Product\A4\Stock Valuation Report.jrxml

You should have it on your hard drive, but if you can't find it, it is simple to extract from the download matching your current installation.

Re: Stock Valuation report issues

Trevor - I might add to Tim A's comment that as part of the upgrade to 1.9.1 you (or your integrator/techo/geek) should really have loaded all the 1.9.1 templates - see http://www.openvpms.org/documentation/csh/1.9/topics/installing-openvpms...

Not loading the new templates leads to a) somethings (eg Stock Valuation) don't work; b) you don't get the new reports and corrections to existing reports. To underline the latter see the Report Templates section of the 1.9.1 release notes at http://www.openvpms.org/openvpms-1.9.1

Re: Stock Valuation report issues

Tim A suggested to me that I should have been more explicit when referencing the template upgrade notes at http://www.openvpms.org/documentation/csh/1.9/topics/installing-openvpms/upgrade-existing-system#templates

Specifically, the warnings about what template load will do with existing templates.

That is, if the template name and content name match, then the old template will be replaced (and this is what we want if we need to replace the old Stock Valuation Report with the new one).

However, with customised system documents like invoices there are two possibilities:

a) your customised version has the same template name and content names as the new one, then your customised one will be replaced.

b) your customised version has a different template/content name to the new one, then new one will be added, and the system will now have two documents of the same type (eg two invoices). Depending on what you want/need (ie keep old customised one or upgrade to new one), you should delete either the new or the old template.

1.9 introduced the Letterhead facility (see http://www.openvpms.org/documentation/csh/1.9/admin/template/letterhead ) and my personal feeling is that is it well worth switching from the use of customised invoices etc, to the 1.9 versions and making use of the letterhead facility. Doing this means that one does not have to upgrade the practice's customised invoices to handle any new facilities.
