An annual (1 year) subscription to OpenVPMS to allow legal use of the software in a veterinary practice. For Veterinary Clinics the subscription amount is based on the number of Full Time Vet Equivalents (FTE) that work in your practice (which may operate from one or more locations). The rules for calculating the number of FTE's are:

• A Full Time Vet is a Vet who is on duty for an average weekly aggregate of 25 hours or more over a given period.
• A Part Time Vet is a Vet who is on duty for an average weekly aggregate of less than 25 hours over a given period
• The number of FTE's for your practice for a given period is the number of Full Time Vets + (Number of Part Time Vets/3) rounded to the NEAREST whole number.

1 unit per FTE must be purchased. This price excludes GST. If you are from Australia you will be charged 10% GST.

Note that the $450 charge per FTE is made of two components, a $300 subscription component plus a $150 ‘development levy’. The Development Levy is used to fund work needed to allow OpenVPMS to use current versions of the various components that it uses (such as the MySQL database and Spring framework). The Levy may also be used to fund worthwhile projects that have not been fully funded.
