[OpenVPMS Developers] HL7 current status and thoughts ?

Message from benjamin.charlton@kalingaparkvetsurgery.com.au benjamin.charlton@kalingaparkvetsurgery.com.au

Just wondering if anyone is still keen on intergrating HL7

http://hl7api.sourceforge.net/ [1]

is a Java API library for HL7

I noticed that

Gribbles support Hl7

and

Lablink from idexx also supports recieving inhouse and external results via HL7

also I think in house machines from Idexx support requests, cancellations and census's via HL7

They provide sample requests with the software.

Just thinking out loud

As yet, there has not been enough interest to get a project up.

Re: [OpenVPMS Developers] HL7 current status and thoughts ?

We are interested in this. Is it complex to integrate? Our workflow would be improved if we could make requests directly from OpenVPMS.

Could we get this costed?

I do wonder if we have enough clinics that use the lablink software depending on the cost if enough people put in if we could get IDEXX to contribute as well?

Re: [OpenVPMS Developers] HL7 current status and thoughts ?

We have recently had some communication from an entity that would be keen to contribute a substantial proportion of the costs of this project but we will still need something in the order of $5k-$10k to complete this. Tim is in the process of estimating the cost of this project  so we will have a better idea soon.

I know that this conversation is a couple of years old now but please let us know if you are still interested.
