Login conflict
Submitted by Guest on Tue, 17/06/2008 - 14:43
I have just set up a test rig using V1.1
It appears that I can login the same username from two different workstations at the same time. It means that I can have say, two Admins running simultaneously. Doesn't seem right.
Can anyone advise? Do I have a setup problem?
Thanks Bob
RE: Login conflict
Not a setup problem. There is currently nothing to stop someone logging in with the same user name in multiple OpenVPMS sessions.
This has not arisen as an issue in other software implementations I have done before to my knowledge. In fact removing this capability may be seen as a negative in many circumstances. Also central monitoring of concurrent logins may cause issues if say for example a session terminates abruptly (someone just closes browser) and the system cannot ascertain if the user has actually logged off and therefore will not them log in again.
Maybe something we could look at as an implementation option. I am not certain if possible but maybe something we can configure in Apache Tomcat or the OpenVPMS security framework.
Cheers Tony
