Electronic Supply Chain Interface Project (ESCI)

Hi Everyone, I am please to say the electronic ordering module discussions have progressed significantly to the point where we have been able to complete the interface design work and are ready to start developing the new module. It has even had a name change to reflect the fact that it will eventually deal with a much broader range of interactions with suppliers. It is now called ESCI (Electronic Supply Chain Interface). You can find more details about the project and links to the various JIRA entries on the project page http://www.openvpms.org/project/orders-module-automatic-interaction. We are also very excited to announce that Cenvet Australia Pty Ltd has been the first wholesaler to pledge funds to the development project. This is exciting news and shows that the concept of OpenVPMS and veterinary industry driven development projects is alive and well. Cenvet has made an initial pledge of $5000 which will be used to get the project started. We will need more funds to see the project fully funded and developed so please get involved and contribute to the project. Cheers Tony

Automatic Ordering

Hi everyone,

First, great to see a wholesaler take the plunge and contribute to the project. Well done Cenvet! Now it is up to the users to respond to indicate how much the community wants this development. Verbal support by users and  industry will be welcome as will input on the project as the project is progressively worked out.

Second, this will be the largest development project undertaken by the user community since Version 1. Development will not wait for full funding as with other projects. Work will commence with the funds available. However, copmpletion and delivery of the whole project is still dependent on the project being fully funded.   Pledges by user and industry alike will be needed to make this a reality. At its completion, we will have an ESCI that conforms to industry standards and is openly defiend. This marks it as distinct from the growing number of proprietary solutions that are specific to wholesaler or software alike.

As previously, funding pledges can be made via posting to this forum or emailing op_funding@boroniavet.com.au.

Cheers,

Matt C

Funding Update: Electronic Supply Chain Interface (19.5%)

Hi everyone,

In addition to Cenvets initial generous donation a user has donated funds to this project!

These are only small steps but without them this highly anticipated development will not get finished!

Funding Update: Electronic Supply Chain Interface (19.5%)

Hi Everyone,

The developers are going full steam ahead on this project based on the initial pledge from Cenvet and other generous contributions.  The progress so far is very impressive but unfortunately without extra funding this will stop very soon and the project will stall.

There have been many in the community who have indicated  on and off the forums how important this project is to their practice or business.  Others have said that the lack of this is all that is stopping them from switching across from their existing systems.  Now is the opportunity to contribute some funds to make sure the project continues.

Cheers

Tony

Electronic Supply Chain

Hi Everyone,

The ESCI project has proceeded very well with the funds already provided but we are now out of funds to proceed any further with the development.

We very much want to complete this development so everyone can get the advantages of electronic ordering and delivery notifications in the next release.  We need your support to make this happen so please  put your hand up and donate whatever funds you can.  Also any of the other wholesalers who haven't contributed yet this would be a great time to get onboard and show you are behind the ESCI project and at the same time show you want to support your customers who use OpenVPMS.

Remember you can utilise a whole range of payment methods to contribute to this project ncluding the various wholesaler and manufacturer points systems.

Kind Regards

Tony

Re: Electronic Supply Chain

MateWhat is the total cost?Have I contributed? Not sure which ones I put my hand up for, there has been a fewWhich suppliers have contributed? I am sure we can lean on our suppliers as between the 3 clinics we spend a reasonable amount Chris On Tue, Apr 6, 2010 at 12:19 PM, <tony@openvpms.org> wrote:
