Emailing multiple contacts

Hi everyone,

so according to our IT/OpenVPMS expert, there is currently no option for sending an email to mutliple customers on open, you can only send 1 email to 1 client at a time.

Has there been any developments made with this?

If not, is anyone willing to develop some code to make this possible?

This project goes some of the way, but OPENVPMS will never support mass email.

 I would suggest looking at mail applications like mailchimp and send grid to manage mass email transactions - utilizing a local mailserver or a regular email server will only achieve your entire email system becoming flagged for spam.

I should add we can get this project costed so you can contribute to the development costs.  Openvpms's development is entirely user funded.  This means that if a user would like a particular feature then they can contribute to pay for its addition. 

The yearly subscriptions go toward maintenance, error fixing and bug correction, website costs,  and some core features that are heavily pushed by the entire community.

Ari - take a look at http://www.openvpms.org/project/add-support-multiple-cc-and-bcc-addresse... - if this is what you want, please add a comment saying so, and start getting together some money to commit to the project.

I would dearly love to get this into 1.8

Tim A - is it possible to move this project on to get it costed?

Yes Tim G, thanks, this is exactly what I mean, I'm not talking about "mass" emails such as newsletters etc just to clarify one of the above post replies, I do already use Mailchimp for that. Good to know there is a drive for this.

Keep in mind that "drive" means that it will need to be funded to be included.
