Invoice Notes - Record to history
Submitted by Guest on Tue, 07/09/2010 - 18:21
Hi - about to implement OpenVPMS and have a few observations - have checked through the forums and haven't found relevant topics
Will list them in separate posts so they can be dealt with individually.
Invoice notes - ie notes that print to the Client invoice are clearly an important part of clinic-client communication. Manually cutting and pasting with navigation between the relevant pages is possible, but slow. Also ,once the invoice has been finalised, accessing those notes is either impossible or just hard to find (and as such not much use as a form of record).
Any likelihood of this being automatic or at least easier to do?
Jim
Re: Invoice Notes - Record to history
So I think you are asking for the creation of a medical record item (just like a weight, attachment or note) which is called Invoice Note and which is created when text is typed into an invoice. Seems a sensible option.
One question though.
Say the customer invoice contains 3 animals. Do you envision the invoice note appear for every animal?

Invoice Notes - Record to
Hi Matt and Jim,
Actually I think Jim may be referring to the original Netvet system where you could add a note to an invoice and have this note also appear in the history. So the other way around from what you are suggesting Matt.
What this means is as well as having the ability to have a note for the invocie as a whole we woudl need to have a patient note invoice item that woudl create a not ein the medcial record for that patient and also print against that patient on the invoice.
I cannot see the other approach working that well.
Definitely possible with a new invoice item archetype , some code and changes to the invocie templates for people who want to utilise it.

Invoice Notes
OK. I remember that.
Where in the invoice would the note appear? In a longer text field either a)In line with the other items or b) in header/footer of Patient group or invoice as a whole?

Invoice Notes
Hi Matt,
Up to the template as to how they are printed. Coudl be any of those options I believe. In line with other items easiest option.

Invoice Notes - Record to
Ideally it would appear on the relevant animals section of the invoice.
Thanks, Jim
Invoice Notes - Project created
Hi guys,
This forum topic has had a development project created.
http://www.openvpms.org/project/invoice-notes-linked-medical-records
As with all projects a bit of interest will ensure it goes to the developers for review at the the end of the Under Discussion period.
Invoice Notes - Discussion Period over
Hi Guys,
There was a little bit of interest in this project. I will pass over to developers for review and costing as it stands. If they require more user input it will be passed back to the forums.
Cheers,
