Name Change

Hi,

Just wondering if someone could help us, we have recently changed name of our practice and we thought we were successful in upgrading our reminders to have the new clinic name on them instead of the old.  Still printing out old clinic name, even though when we go to the documents has new clinic name.  If someone could give us some advice would be fantastic.

Once you have changed the documents you need to upload them into Openvpms this is done

in Administration - Templates - see the link below for more info -

Jane - you do not say how you 'upgraded our reminders'. If you ended up with two document templates, say old-name and new-name, then did you remember to change the templates set for each reminder type - see http://www.openvpms.org/documentation/csh/1.7/admin/type/reminderType ?

If you edited the patient letter used for reminder(s), did you then edit the document template and press the Upload button to upload the new content ? (see http://www.openvpms.org/documentation/csh/1.7/admin/template/edit/template ).

If you are using grouped reminders - ie the Group checkbox is ticked for each reminder type to be grouped, did you modify the content for the template of type 'Grouped Reminder'.

[I am wondering whether you are in fact using grouped reminders, but you have edited the Patient letters using for reminders. If this is the case, then since you are using grouped reminders, the patient letters are not actually being used.]

Suggested actions:

1) use Administration|Types|Reminder Types to check the templates being used and whether or not Group is ticked.
2) use Administration|Templates to check the content for the template(s) specified for the reminders types and make sure that this is your 'upgraded' content.

Thanks Ben & Tim,

The reminder that we are having trouble finding so we can change the practice name is the one that prints out all reminders for either client (if they have two or more animals due in at same time) or for patients (if they have two or more procedures due at same time).  This reminder was not one of our original reminders that was transferred over from RXWorx, it was made up when we changed to openvpms.  I can find all the others but cannot find this file, don't know how to find it.

Also we have tried to add new reminders on, they all look identical in the set up to the others we have but are not printing, any suggestions?

Jane - given your description, the report you want is the Grouped Reminders Report.  As standard its content is the file "grouped reminders A4.jrxml".

The tool to manipulate this is Jaspersoft's iReports.  However, if all you want to do is a simple change of the practice name from say "Freds Vets" to "Harrys Vet Service" and there are no logo graphics used, then you should be able to use a simple text editor like Notepad to make the change.

Call use Administration|Templates and search for say 'group' or '%remind' and look for a report of type Grouped Reminders, then view it, and click on the Content link to export the jrxml file to your downloads folder.  Edit it and save it, then Edit the template, and time click the Upload button to upload your modified file.

Note that when you use Notepad things will look a mess because it will not be in neat lines. Here is me looking at the standard report and looking for the word clinic - since this is what is used in the standard version.

A simple xml viewer / editor like notepad plus (free opensource for all OS's) is a god send if editting files like this.
