Stock Adjustments

I was so happy to see in v1.5 that in selecting items, clients etc you could 'select again' and go back to the original list or use previous/next.

Shock/horror - I now find that in the lead up to EOFY that stock adjustments have missed out on this feature so every item has to be searched and selected each time.

Is there any way this bug can be urgently patched to make EOFY stocktake less of a headache.

Thanks, Nick

Re: Stock Adjustments

I have had a behind the scenes chat about the above stock adjustments and it has been suggested that the best way of altering stock adjustments for either end of FY or monthly stockturn analysis is to export the relevant stock to excel then make the adjustments on the spreadsheet and reimport them into oVPMS.

This might also be a platform for altering of prices and reimporting??

I have this stocktake/price update headache regularly - does anyone else want to make it easier.

If so please add your comments so we can get it discussed, costed and hopefully funded.

Thanks,

Nick

Re: Stock Adjustments

Hi,

I think an exel import link would be a great feature for being able to update prices and perform stock adjsutments, keen to help,

Re: Stock Adjustments

Hi Nick and Ralph,

I believe the price update function is best handled as a new workspace which will allow filtering of products and applying specific $ or % price updates.  There is already a project defined for this :

http://www.openvpms.org/project/price-batch-update-workspace

We should definitely put together a project for the stock take import function though.

In the mean time I have developed a report to export the stock take sheets into a export format and a database script to import the updated spreadsheet with actual figures as an In progress stock adjustment record which the user can then finalise.

I will put the Stock Take Sheet Export report into the reports area this week.

As the import script works directly against the database and requires some tweaking depending on the location of the import files it is probably best that someone with experience with the OpenVPMS system performs this technical task. If you or your software implementer contact me directly I will be happy to provide the script or do the import for you. :-)

Cheers Tony

Re: Stock Adjustments

That would be great Tony, thanks.  I will see if cath can do the setup for me.

Re: Stock Adjustments

I have added the report to the shared resources area here.
