Header Check Error when printing

Hi

I have been through the installation of OpenVPMS 1.2 a couple of times successfully but now have a problem in that when I try to print anything I get a "header check" error message! I have had a successful implementations but can not seem to replicate it?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

RE: Header Check Error when printing

Hi Des,

Can you give us a bit more information on your install environment as in OS, java , Tomcat, openoffice version etc

Also in the Tomcat folder you should find an openvpms.log file which will have some more detail about the error message you are getting. May give us some clues if you attach it or paste the relevant information in the email.

Cheers Tony

RE: Re: RE: Header Check Error

Hi Des,

Versions look fine but I think the issue is using the system account for Tomcat. In order to run openoffice as a background task to do merging and pdf conversion for document printing/previewing we need to start Apache Tomcat as a user who can run the openoffice application and we need to initialise open office as this user so it doesn't get stuck in the registration process which happens when you first start it for a particular user.

Unfortunately you cannot set this up using the SYSTEM account. So we suggest you create a openvpms user with administrator priveleges and a suitable password and log in as this user and start open office for the first time. Then use this user and password to start the Tomcat service.

Hope this helps.

Cheers Tony

RE: Re: RE: Header Check Error

Hi Tony

Thanks I thought that might be the case given I have been successful!  I was in the OpenVPMS account when I tried to resolve the problem with Tomcat which I sense did not help.    But I have since been able to get OpenVPMS to be the owner of the application.

I did a silly thing and did an uninstall and reinstall of Tomcat to see if I could resolve the problem that and now get a Tomcat error open error on VPMS so I will keep pressing.  I am trying to get a system up quickly but seem to be rushing.  I will fill out a registration in the next day or so for a single vet practice which is just starting up.

Best regards and I will see if I can contribute to the documentation for 'novice' users.
