Explanatory text:
This report is designed for exporting sales data to investigate when sales occur.
It works from the line item timestamps of invoices and counter sales and totals the amounts that occur by day and hour. The 'Group Hours' parameter determines the size of the hour "bucket". By default this is set to 3 and hence sums the sales over each 3 hour block. Sensible values are 1,2,3,4,6,8,12 and 24.
The period is inclusive - ie sales from 00:00 on the start date through 23:59:59 on the end date.
All the text selection fields entered have % added so that leaving them blank will find all, and entering say Clinician %david will find all clinicians containing 'david' in their name, and Practice Location C will include all locations starting C. The selection is case insensitive.
If there is no Practice Location selection then customers with no Practice Location set will be included. Using the selection '-' will select just those with no Practice Location set.
The same applies for the Clinician selection.
The Practice Location is that set for the invoice/counter sale, and the Clinician is that set for the line item (which will never be set for counter sales).
Note that the Clinician and Practice Location shown will be those for a random line item of those in the same day/hour block, and hence will not be accurate unless the Clinician and Practice Location selection has been used to select a specific clinician and/or location.
The DayNum column gives the weekday index (0 = Monday, 1 = Tuesday, … 6 = Sunday).
The Hour column is the hour at the start of the block.
The Count column shows the number of line items in the block.
The Clinician and Practice Location will show as '--None--' if these are not set.
Note that when working with the data in a spreadsheet, you will probably want to remove the information and explanation lines following the data lines.
