A mechanism is required to enable users to report unexpected application errors in order to help improve software quality. The simplest approach is to provide a button on error dialogs that enables users to send details of the error. The error details would include the stack trace, openvpms version, and java system information. These would be sent via email to a non-public openvpms list.

There are privacy implications - error logs could contain sensitive information. As such, the sending of error logs would be opt-in - no information would be sent without user consent. We would also need to include a link to a privacy statement.
