adding multiple visits on update

Hi, wondering if anyone can help.

We have just got the latest update to openvpms & now when we use the workflow we seem to be creating multiple visits in the patient history.

A visit is created at check in with the weight, and when the vet picks it up and consults, it will add another new visit with the clinical notes etc. thus creating 2 visits in the history with the same date, seems like overkill? Are we doing something incorrectly?

Is someone clicking Add Visit & Note instead of New -> Note? This will create a new Visit that will appear with a No Reason reason in the patient summary.

I can duplicate this in 1.7B2 5567.  My sequence was:

  1. call up patient information and click Check-in
  2. fill in weight ... get to visit editor and press OK
  3. go to workflow|worklist and select task and press Consult - goes to visit editor with new visit
  4. enter invoice item and press completed
  5. back on worklist screen, status has gone to billed
  6. select task and press Checkout - all works as expected
  7. go to patient|medical records screen - shows as below - ie one visit with weight, one with consult.

I've reported this before: it seems to occur if you go near the worklist; we now assiduously avoid using the worklist (which is a pain) and work only from scheduling.

I thought it was our wireless laptop in consulting that was causing the extra visit, but we replaced the router and subsequently noticed it happen on wired workstations, so that wasn't it.  I also thought it might be blank invoices, but that wasn't it.  I never solved the problem, it happens intermittently still and I just ignore it as an OV nuisance.  As I said, it seems to happen (randomly -whenever I try to make it happen, it won't!) if I select the patient from the worklist, not from scheduling.

thought we were doing something wrong. We've always consulted from the worklist as this is what we were taught to do. Maybe try from shedule from now on!?

This bug occurs when consulting from the work list where there are prior visits for the patient that are Completed, but no end-date has been set.

Great - this has been irritating me for ages and the fix is so "simple".

We've currently got a patient in hospital staying more than one day.  When I went to add more notes this morning, I had the infamous "No Reason" and some invoice items in the "No reason" visit - even though everything was set to "In progress".  I edited the initial visit to have an end date of today, leaving it "in progress" and ignored the "No Reason" visit.  This afternoon opened the visit again and "No Reason" has vanished and all invoice items are where they should be: in the one visit.  Awesome.
