MySQL Failure and the Recovery JBDC Connector Incompatible?
Submitted by Guest on Fri, 15/03/2013 - 16:56
Following MYSQL failure this mornign I updated to MYSQL 5.6
Running a kettle transform I hit a problem . Screen is below, but I wasnt specifying a startTime...is the main point and I got the following error
Data trunction:incorrect datetime value for ...... following this was the mysql field name for the startTime in the entityrelationship database...
but I am thinking hangon I never specified ...I was relying on the default...ie ...created_time as specified in the archetype...
wierd.
Interesting I realized kettle was using an old 3.1 version if the JBDC connector so I updated it....and it worked seemlessly on the next run.
Summary:
I think MYSQL 5.6 may not support the old 3.1 JBDC connector...so kettle installations may need tweaking.

Thanks Ben,
Haven't installed Mysql 5.6 as yet but will be soon so some good advice.
How have you found database performance on this version ?
