Confirmation before accepting cancel request

Good morning all.

Our staff is asking for the system to confirm a cancel request if there has been a change to the information on a page. Right now the system doesn't seem to do that anywhere in OPEN (with the exception of confirming it should save updates if you more between records without hitting apply first).

Is this someone other users would like to see as well?

Re: Confirmation before accepting cancel request

Alan - I would support support this.  As you indicate, from the example of what happens when you use Next/Previous on an edit screen, the code does know that there has been a change, and hence should be able to put up a confirm window. I would also suggest that this should also happen if you  press the red X close window button at the top right of the window

I also have bitches about cancel in two other cases.

First where it is used to skip an operation - see https://openvpms.atlassian.net/browse/OVPMS-1428 "Replace OK/Cancel and New by more explicit versions".

Second in the Check-in process - where our reception staff commonly close the Visit Editor screen, not by pressing OK but by using the Red X at the top right of the window.  This is functionally a Cancel and leaves the appointment still in pending state although the task and visit records have been created. [However the reception staff think 'I didn't enter anything on the medical records screen so there is no problem just closing this window with the red X'.]

Regards, Tim G

Re: Confirmation before accepting cancel request

The second example you mention hasn't made it to my desk yet, but I see where that would be an issue that someone will spot soon.

There is already a JIRA for this. See https://openvpms.atlassian.net/browse/OVPMS-987
