At cost discount type - proposal

In addition to the existing discount types (None, Fixed and Percentage) we have a need for an "At-cost" type. Particularly applicable to staff whom we allow to by goods at our purchase price.
This would charge the Product Unit Price at the list price plus taxes. It would retain the option as with other discount types to include or exclude Fixed Amount.

Re: Proposal for new Discount Features
The system would recalculate the maximum discount when ever a change is made to the markup or the Sale Price.
It would work as follows -
if the markup is changed....
Update the Sale Price
Update the Discount - formula = (MARKUP / (1+MARKUP))*100
For example if you set the markup to 50% the max discount would be set to 33%
If the Sale Price is changed
Recalculate the markup
Relcalulate the discount based on the new markup (formula as above)
The maximum discount can be overridden by manually entering the required figure. where no markup figure exists set the max to 100%.
IF the maximum discount has been set to 0% manually it will not be recalculated. This would mean the products price cannot be discounted under any circumstances.
Re: Proposal for new Discount Features
The new discount has been slightly adjusted to allow for more variations
It is now represented as Cost + variable % then + tax % (if applicable)
If the variable rate is set as 0 then it is in effect a cost price discount.
Re: At cost discount type - proposal
That seems comprehensive and should suit the purpose admirably.
