Customer Notes & Alerts Odd Behaviour

Hi,
I was just playing around with the notes field and noticed some odd behaviour.
The odd behaviour is that when I am in most screens even though I can't seem to find any customer notes in my account (I use it to play with) in the customer box on the left hand side a note alert appears....
However when I go to the Customer -> Notes & Alerts view...
Notes dissapear.
However I can't find an actual note associated with my name.... Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?
I am also not entirely clear on the difference between Customer Notes & Customer Alerts and when each of these display...

That is actually an alert you are seeing in the customer summary.
Either click on "OTHER" in the summary, or select the Alerts tab to view it.

Note that in 1.6.x there is a bug where alerts are displayed even if they have expired. This has been fixed for 1.7.

Hi,
Yes, I think this might be it. There is a type called "other" for both Notes and Alerts which is why I was getting confused.
