Dose Rates/Weight based calculations

Hi,
Not sure if this is where this should go...
We are running a version of 1.9.
It would be really useful to have dose rates (which are essentially weight based calculations) extended to services (and possibly merchanise) as well.
Example. We calculate general cremation costs based on weight - this is currently sold as a service. Ditto for sedation.
Also, when doing templates it would be good if the template recognised the medicaitons was a dose rate based calculation and perhaps entered this information automatically into the high/low (or had some sort of "this value will be autocalculated based on weight" sign for the low/high.
Thanks,
Adrian
Re: Dose Rates/Weight based calculations
Can you not use templates with weight based includes instead?
Using doses doesn't feel like a good fit to me, particularly after OVPMS-1677 is applied which will include a dose number in the dose calculation. All that is required is a rate, which can be simulated with weight based includes.
Regarding templates and doses, I've raised OVPMS-1687 which will display a note in the template if the selected product has doses. Whether or not the doses are used is dependent on the species.
Re: Dose Rates/Weight based calculations
I could. It is just a pain to set up when the calculation we want is essentially a dose rate type calculation....
But fair point. I guess I only have to do it once.... So this is what I will do.
Thanks, I think the note will be helpful.
Re: Dose Rates/Weight based calculations
Actually I saw another reason having wgt based exclusions based on a product. I constantly see misselling ie
a sale list has
Nexgard 4-10
Nexgard 10-25
etc
etc
sales assisntance simply misclicks the dosage size and wallah you either have a missed on a few dollars or they have overcharged . Either way your stock is now out. OR they have overdosed a pet.
For invoice sales have wgt exclusions could stop a lot of this...The intelligence would simply be similar to the exclusions currently applied by species...if a item exists on the list then the exclusion is applied and it wont appear for patients that dont fit the parameters...for countersales or the case where there are no wgt exclusions the item would appear for all patients and countersales
While I think this would be a nice addition ...not high on my agenda atm
