Email to all clients with attached personalised letter as a voucher to refer a friend

We are looking to do an email to all existing clients, preferably with a letter attached that will effectively be a voucher to refer a friend. If possible, it will have the existing client's name on it so when the friend comes in, they get $25 off their first visit and we will put $25 credit on the existing client's account towards their next visit.

Does that make sense? Is that possible? I am not sure if this has been done by anyone before and even if it works.

Regards

Matt

Re: Email to all clients with attached personalised letter ...

Hi Matt,

Definitely possible.  We would suggest using one of the standard email export reports (Export Customer Email adddress for Sales) loaded by default with openVPMS, running the report and exporting to a csv file and then importing this into an application like Mailchimp to create the email template and email campaign and the email your customers.    You can use the customers name and id in the email content (rich text) so people printing the email have a reference to the customer it pertains to.

If you need more advise on this we are happy to assist you at Vertical Connect.

Cheers

Hi Matt,

How'd did you go with this, did you need extra help?
We are interested in sending an email to all clients with an email address asking to write us a google review and go into a draw to win a $300 credit on their account.

Re: Email to all clients with attached personalised letter ...

Hi Meredith,

Before proceeding too far on that project, you should probably review the Google Guidelines, Format Specific Criteria > Text Review and Captions where it specifically states the following:

In addition to Prohibited Content guidelines, Text Reviews and Captions are subject to the following additional requirements:
  • Don’t use reviews for advertising purposes. This includes, but is not limited to, posting email addresses, phone numbers, social media links, or links to other websites in your reviews.
  • Don’t discourage or prohibit negative reviews or selectively solicit positive reviews from customers.
  • Don’t include promotional or commercial content.
  • Don’t offer or accept money in exchange for reviews.
  • Don’t solicit reviews from customers in bulk.

I think they are pretty tight about this although enforcement is probably complaint driven, and may take a while to resolve.  I'm only aware of this issue (the guidelines are buried pretty deep in the Google site) because the College of Veterinarians in this jurisdiction address the issue in their own guidelines re: websites, etc.
