Grouped Reminders question

[I apologise in advance for being lazy and asking the question rather that testing things]

I think I need to clarify in the CSH, how grouped reminders work.

Currently it says:

However, I suspect that the grouping is dependent on the template.  ie if you have a situation as follows:

ie the customer has 2 pets each with two reminders, then for things to be fully grouped (ie only one document sent to the customer) then the various reminder types MUST specify the same document template.  If they specify different document templates, then the above customer will get two reminder documents, one for each of the two reminder types.

Am I correct?  If so, I will amend the CSH text.

Re: Grouped Reminders question

Nope they can specify different primary templates just fine...if the "Grouped" box is checked then the reminder will go into the group template if there is more than 1 grouped reminder for that month.

Re: Grouped Reminders question

Ahah - the light dawns I think.  Is the logic as follows:

If a customer has multiple reminders of types that have the Group box ticked, then these, irrespective of the Document Template specified for the applicable reminder count, will use the Document Template that has Type 'Grouped Reminders' - PROVIDED that the action is Post or Email.

[Note that there should only be a single Document Template or Type 'Grouped Reminders' available - either because there is only one in the system, or a single one is specified in the Practice Location or Practice Templates.]

So in the Appleby case above, if only the G6 vaccination has the Group box ticked, then the customer will (assuming that the action is Post in all cases) have 3 documents printed: one Grouped Reminder for the G6 vaccinations showing both Dotty and Twiglet, and two Proheart reminders, one for Dotty and one for Twiglet.  If Twiglet did not have a G6 vaccination due, then there would still be 3 documents, with the Grouped Reminder being replaced by a G6 vaccination reminder letter for Dotty.

Do I have it correct?

Re: Grouped Reminders question

Sound accurate to my own experience.

In our version we have an additional flag built in to the Reminder setup that forces reminders to go via regular post - this allowed us to override email reminders which we felt may be affecting reminder response rate.
