Idexx Submission Form
Submitted by Guest on Fri, 02/12/2011 - 08:53
Hi
Please find attached an IDEXX Submission Form which has been approved for use by Idexx. This can be used manually as a patient document or attached to your Idexx Investigation Type as the investigation number is included.
Version 1.5 allows an interface with IDEXX Laboratories.

Re: Idexx Submission Form
Are you saying that openvpms will communicate directly with Idexx laboratories to acquire test results? I didn't realize that functionality was there... if it is, can the same go for Antech?
Cheers, Paul
Re: Idexx Submission Form
Hi Paul,
OpenVPMS can currently generate submission forms and clinical Investigation entries in the patients medical records based on specific Investigation Types (you can setup in Administration -> Types). These can also be linked to specific products so they are generated during charging.
It also has a generic document import function which allows you to take documents downloaded from investigation providers using software they supply. Typically their software provides the results in some readable format (html, pdf, txt etc) and the import utility can automaticaly attach these to the Investigation based on a unique Request Id.
In order to track Investigations we also have a Investigation workspace Workflow -> Investigations.
In the future we expect to work on electronic requesting via Hl7 etc.
Cheers Tony

Got it... thanks Tony.
Re: Idexx Submission Form
Hi,
I have attached this IDEXX form to a new investigation type called IDEXX Pathology. This works ok. It saves some hassle in handwriting the client name/path ID number, etc. I can also tick box with the [FORM CHECKBOX] function.
However what would be great is if we could also manually enter text into the form (i.e. type the history into a popup box, as with a letter) and/or have a dropdown list of tests to choose from (about a dozen tests make up 95% of our submissions so this would be a nice timesaver). I have tried to do this with Fillin Fields, FORM TEXTBOXES, FORM DROPDOWN, etc. But nothing seems to let me type text into the PDF form (which is the only way this appears).
Did anyone have any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong or if this is achievable?
Thanking you,
Adrian
Re: Idexx Submission Form
I use the following form which is a modification of Cath's. How I use it
I make sure the printer is interactive...and I preview the form prior to printing
this opens it as a PDF with edittable fields, checkboxes etc, HOWEVER you must tab out of a field to save the entry....
and then you can print it
It does not save your edits ...each time you PRint preview you have to do it all again
Not ideal but it works
Re: Idexx Submission Form
Dear Ben,
Thank you for that. That seems a better system than I was able to achieve... Appreciated.
Thanks,
Adrian

Re: Idexx Submission Form
Hi,
If people want to use it a slightly updated newer style IDEXX form we use in our clinic. Please note, many tests have been removed from this so you might need to add the ones you use commonly back to the list.
Hope someone finds it useful.
Cheers,
Adrian
