Merge Field for Surname

Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a merge field for just the client surname? I have the merge field for the Title, First Name & Last Name, but I'm after the microsoft word merge field for just the surname.

Depending on whether customer or patient document 

client.entity.lastName

or

 

[openvpms:get(party:getPatientOwner(.),'lastName')]

Hi Sandra,

First one is for customer documents.  Second one is for Patient documents.

I've tried to put the bottom merge field in the patient letter and I keep getting expression errors. Is that merge field word or open office?

Hi Sandra,

It is independent of the word processor just the way you create a merge field is different.  For Open Office need to create the field in Insert ->Field ->User Fields.  In Word need to create a Merge field (Ctrl-F9 I think, enter field details between MERGFIELD and clsoing } with a space between beggining and end.

If this doesn't work then may need to see exact error message.
