Messaging in the newest Version

Happy New Year to all,

I was wondering how the repair of the messaging workspace is going.

I guess others are finding they are unable to use it at present?

Thanks

Bernie

Re: Messaging in the newest Version

Hi Bernie,

Tim has fixed this issue and I have tested on another site.  It is not an official release but I can arrange to put on your server.  We actually need to finalise 1.5 now so if there are no other issues from the people testing this release I suggest we do this so everyone can get the final release ?

Cheers Tony

Re: Messaging in the newest Version

Hi Tony,

If this could be updated for us that would be great.

One other thing I hoped to be fixed was that the order status would go to finalised after sending it electronically so you can go back and alter or cancel b/o's. Also the system doesn't seem to cross reference as such and realise stock is on b/o it just keeps coming up on the reordering report. Orders and deliveries maybe don't seem to talk to each other.

Thanks

Bernie

Re: Messaging in the newest Version

Hi Bernie,

Once a order has been sent electronically it goes to finalised to indicate it has been sent.  Then the supplier sends back an accepted or rejected message and the status on the order is changed accordingly.  If accepted you can edit it and manually edit the cancelled quantity on any item to reflect changes to order.

If you receive an electronic delivery that is linked to the order by the supplier then it will definitely update the received quantities on the associated order items automatically (tested and confirmed).  If this is not happening then I suggest you first need to work through it with the supplier to make sure their electronic delivery information is including the order references as well ..

Happy to help diagnose further once this has been done ..

Cheers

Tony

Re: Messaging in the newest Version

Thanks Tony,

I hadn't tried to edit qty's recv'd/cancelled since the update. I have had a play and seem to have been able to clear most orders up. Some orders that order 6 and recv'd 10 due to a promo special are giving me the following error though and won't let me then edit the cancelled etc.

Failed to validate property Quantity: The order quantity (6) is less than the sum of the received and cancelled quantities (10)

Not sure if you have any thoughts on that error or how to get around it?

What I don't think is happening and maybe it is not meant to - I ordered Conoptal previously and it went to b/o. I have not cancelled it but each time I run the Reorder report it keeps coming up to order. Also when stock comes in on a new invoice that was prev on b/o the delivery does not match it up to the old order and that is the stock that I am going back and cancelling now...

Maybe I don't have the stock side down pat as yet.

Thanks again for your time,

Bernie

Re: Messaging in the newest Version

Hi Bernie,

In regards bonus stock this should be handled in the delivery rather than the order.  If you are manually editing then you cannot disobey the rule as the error states.  i.e just edit so cancelled + received = ordered and use the delivery to receive the bonus stock.

Not sure about the other delivery issue but possibly electronic delivery received from supplier does not have enough information for OpenVPMS to match to appropriate order(s) .. need much more information to diagnose I think ..

Cheers Tony

Re: Messaging in the newest Version

Hey Tony,

I am delivering the extra stock - not free bonus stock but better price if you take 10.

The error comes up when there has been another product on that order that was not recieved at the time but comes at a later date and I want to go back to the original order and cancel the product to keep everything tidy and orders can be full rather then pending, this is when I get the error message, I am not trying to change that stock line that has recived extra stock but the system won't let me apply any  product cancellations.

Thanks

Bernie

Re: Messaging in the newest Version

Hi Tony,

I believe we got off track with the initial part of this topic being the messaging.

If you could fix this for us that would be great.

I am not sure if you think we need to look any further into the delivery/editing order side of things?

Thanks,

Bernie

Re: Messaging in the newest Version

Hi Bernie,

Apologies but Tim is cutting the final 1.5 release as we speak so I thought best to wait so you have this which includes all the fixes.  Hopefully only a couple of days delay.  Hope that is OK ?

Cheers Tony
