National conference or forum

If any Open VPMS users will be at the Australian Vet Assoc National Conference in Darwin we should get together for a drink or dinner to discuss how Open VPMS works in your practices.

Also how about next year - 2010 - we have a day workshop at the Pan Pacific Conference in May in Brisbane (combined AVA and New Zealand VA conferences). We could do it under our own steam, or perhaps thru the AVPMA.

Re: National conference or forum

Great idea Jim, How easy is it to get a room for an hour or two to run a user seminar + intro session for delegates? Do you think AVPMA would be interested in including it in their program? That would probably be even better. Peter BTW thanks also for helping set up the seminar in Sydney. I heard it went quite well.

Re: National conference or forum

Hi Pete & Jim, Are you meaning a meeting of current open VPMS users Jim? Cos I think that would be equally a great idea. I look at the progress the forums has had in recent months and wonder how much energy and great ideas would come from the occasional face-face meeting.

Cheers, Matt C

National conference or forum

What I propose for Darwin 2009 is that existing users get togther if possible to brain storm, and that we approach our organisation (AVPMA - I am a member) regarding planning for next year, and possible costs.

In Brisbane in 2010  we could

a) Have one or more lectures during the AVPMA stream on Open VPMS - mainly as an introduction to the system for potential new users.

b) Have a seminar or workshop on Open VPMS - the emphasis might be on an introduction to the system for those potential new users, or more advanced training for existing users. This might work well on the Friday, which is traditionally reserved for workshops.

We should all be open to suggestions, but it seems like a "tie in" with the AVA/Pan Pacific Vet Conf would be the best way of introducing potential new users, rather than a stand alone Open VPMS conference (although that may also be appropriate at some point).

//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> I would see it as a great opportunity to present to the community as a whole as well as a brainstorming opportunity for the converted as you suggest Jim.Definitely under the auspices of the Pan Pacific Conference and AVPMA if possible. What sort of cost would that involve? Peter mpcosta wrote:
