Old Windows Termtecks looking for a home

Hi all, firstly let me say that I don't want the forum to become a classifieds section so please tell me if this is inappropriate.

We have just managed to get away from our Windows Terminal server and have replaced all of our Windows Termtecks with tiny PC's to run OpenVPMS. We have 14 of these looking for a good home along with 11 power supplies (the power supplies don't last as long as the units themselves).

We only need a nominal sum for these - a Bunnings voucher or a free Big Mac voucher might swing the deal but if any of you out there use Termtecks and need some more please send me a message through the forum.

Peter

Re: Old Windows Termtecks looking for a home

Hi Peter,

We would be very interested in the Windows Termtecks. We would have space for 10 of them, but whatever is available.

Let me know whatever vouchers etc you would like for the 10.

For you Sam you can have them for nothing given that you are such a great community member. The only condition is that you take the whole 14....

Thanks Peter,

Would you mind emailing Greta on info[at]advancedvetcare.com[dot]au and she will organise courier pick up them.

It's very generous of you, thanks again.

Re: Old Windows Termtecks looking for a home

Hi Ben,

I'm not the tech person around here but we have been using a Dell machine with a xeon x330 2.4 ghz processor running Windows Server 2008 with 32 gb ram for a few years now. We were using our original server as a terminal server until I fried it fiddling with power supplies. Matt C has now found some really small, low power consumption Brix boxes and is installing Ubuntu linux on them. They seem  to be doing the job very well at the moment so they will replace some second-hand Dell small form pc's we have been using since the terminal server went down.
