Orders

Hello all, just wondering if anyone has an easy solution to my problem...my apologies if I am not using the correct terminology..

We are integrated with Provet for our ordering and the issue is that we order Puppy kongs and teething sticks and they are available in pink or blue. We have separate products listed on open for each colour and size, but Provet has the single code for both colours and you just have to specify which colour you want.

So I need a solution:

1. Provet creates a code for each product -> that solves my problem and seems sensible to me :)

2. I just have the one product listed on OPEN for the one size regarldless of colour -> the problem I have with that is they have different bar codes and our policy is that merchandise is scanned so that the correct product is sold - to reduce stock error and the blue and pink kongs have different bar codes...

3. Keep the 2 products and have the same Provet codes? if this happens and we finalise our delivery from Provet - how will OPEN now which product arrived if they both have the same codes??? Will we always need to manually adjust..

Thanks for your help

Re: Orders

Ideally Provet would have separate order codes for each product.

If this isn't possible then I think your current approach of maintaing separate products is correct. You will need to manually edit stock quantities each time you take a delivery. E.g.:

  • Kong Mix - used solely for ordering
  • Kong Pink - used for sales and stock control of pink Kong products
  • Kong Blue - - used for sales and stock control of blue Kong products

When you receive a delivery of Kong Mix:

  • manually edit the Stock Locations of Kong Ping and Kong Blue to set the quantities to reflect what is in stock; and
  • use a Stock Adjustment for Kong Mix to reduce its quantity to zero
