We are using an old system (not sure). However will be upgrading in the next 6-12 months. So we can be open to buying something where this sort of thing could be integrated.
What we would like:
- Client Name/Patient Name to appear when client calls.
- Ideally a link to OVPMS patient file that can be clicked and we get straight to the patient file in OVPMS
- Ability to tag calls/files so they can be uploaded into OVPMS (preferably automatically).

Some systems provide APIs to support this. It's often used by customer relationship management software. For an example, see Asterisk
Java does have a telephony API which we might be able to use to support multiple providers. Support for it seems to be patchy; a quick search indicates there is support for it for Asterisk, Cisco and Avaya.
Re: Phones: Caller Number Display
We would be VERY interested in this.
Bonus marks if we can have recorded calls automatically attached to patient files....
Re: Phones: Caller Number Display
It can't at the moment. What phone system are you using?
Re: Phones: Caller Number Display
NEC Xen Topaz, approx 10y old (+ Telstra)

Re: Phones: Caller Number Display
How would this sort of thing work? From the PBX to openVPMS? or from the handset to openVPMS? It's a fantastic idea in theory
