Printing Freeze within OVPMS

We are having recurrent episodes of workstation freezes when printing from O VPMS - the session freezes with the grey please wait box of death. You can still go to Start-Printers and print a test page so it is from VPMS not the server or printer. To overcome it it means ctrl/alt/del out of the session or restart Tomact if everyone elses station is idle.

Has anyone any ideas of what may be causing this?

Thanks,

Nick

Re: Printing Freeze within OVPMS

Hi Nick,

If this is only when you try and print forms/letters then there is an issue with your Open Office under the user that runs the Tomcat service.  I would say that it is displaying a prompt of some kind and therfore not accepting OpenVPMS requests to merge documents.  To resolve log in as the user who runs the tomcat service and first kill and soffice processes and then startup open office and see what displays.  Make sure it goes directly into Open Office without any error or registraion/participation prompts.

Cheers Tony

Why is a workstation freezing though, I can understand the server freezing but not a workstation...unless the workstation is a server.

On a workstation you should just be able to open a new browser window and keep working
