Re: Problem with Installation of OpenVPMS

Ok first things - check the logs in the TOMCAT Install directory usually C:\Program Files\Apache\Tomcat7

Check what it says

Obviously we have not provided instructions for installing Tomcat under every OS in these cases use the Apache Tomcat instructions.

before you bother installing it as a service - make sure that you can run it from the command prompt.

When running as a service - make sure the user it runs as has administrator type priveledges OR make sure you understand which directories and files TOMCAT needs read/write access to and set that up.

Tomcat writes its logs to C:\Program Files\Apache\Tomcat7 which under any windows system more recent than vista is a protected directory....meaning only admin can write to it by default.

As an aside you may wish to move this discussion to our Implementation forum

http://www.openvpms.org/forums/implementation

It deals with installation and configuration more than this (an end user forum)

Sincerely

Ben
