Product Batch Numbers and Expiry Dates

Looking at the new product batch numbers and Expiry dates

 

I am wondering if we should lock the batch numbers/expiry dates when an invoice is finalized to prevent accidental changes to the batch numbers afterward.  I guess this ties in with the accountability and edittability / versioning of medical records and the changes that are planned there.

Additional - should we create an interface in the Product workspace to allow manual addition of batch numbers and expiry dates to products outside of the delivery workspace - for those products / or clinics that dont use the supplier workspace.

There's currently no project set up to restrict editing of history but there probably should be. I don't know that the editing of the batch can be restricted by finalisation of the invoice; what happens if the batch is incorrect and it is only determined after finalisation?

As for batch creation, you can create new batches via Product -> Batches -> New.
