Re: Reminders

Hi Amanda,

All you need to do is make sure on each client with an email contact you have attached the Reminder purpose to the email contact.  This tells OpenVPMS that the customer wants to receive reminders by email.  If no Reminder Purpose has been attached to any contact then it defaults to Posting (Printing).

Of course if a specific Reminder Type has defined that reminders for a specific reminder count should be listed (list tick box in Reminder Type templates) then no email will be sent.

Also make sure you have setup the reminder templates email subject and body so the emails are correctly formatted.  The reminder itself will be attached as a pdf.

Lastly make sure the Practice Location(s) have the mail host setup (name of your smtp mail server) and also the Reminder Purpose attached to the email address which will be used as the from address in the sent email.

Hope this helps.

Cheers
Tony

Hi Tony,

Many thanks for your assistance! I was able to follow your
directions...just to clarify further...

Can you use merge fields in the body text for the email?

I found the 'list' tick box in the reminder type templates. What is it
used for? I don't understand when you would tick it!

Thanks Tony,
Amanda.

Re: Reminders

Hi Damien,

You currently can't use merge fields in the email subject or body but I think this would be a good enhancement.

If you tick list in the reminder type template the reminder will be listed on a report rather than posted or emailed.  This way you can force specific reminders for specific reminder types to be contacted via a telephone listing.

Cheers

Tony
