Rostering Software

Hi guys,

Sorry if this is a little unrelated to OpenVPMS and please let me know if this is an inappropriate forum for this question, however, can anyone recommend an a good rostering software package for vets and nurses, and if so, is there any way that it can be tied in with consulting schedules on OpenVPMS,

Thanks

Sam

Re: Rostering Software

The one in use here is http://www.findmyshift.com/ - no integration into OpenVPMS - reception, once a month inserts block out appointments [see the Staff Availability note at the bottom of http://www.openvpms.org/documentation/csh/1.7/concepts/schedulesWorklists ]

Re: Rostering Software

Hi,

We use shiftplanning.com

Similar to find my shift. No integration into OVPMS.

I am looking into if this can integrate with the accounting software I would like to move to (sassu or xero) as this would be uber cool.

Cheers,

Adrian

Re: Rostering Software

Thanks Adrian and Tim,

Only other one I have looked into is HRM software - a Canberra Company - and they sell a program called easyEmployer. Cloud based that looks a little like find my shift. It merges with MYOB for payrol and leave accrural etc and tracks clock on and clock off and mealtimes, leave requests and shift availability. Cost is about 4-5$ per active user per month. I think I might try find my shift. Do the CSV files upload into your payroll software Tim?

Thanks

Sam

Re: Rostering Software

Sam - no the CSV files don't upload into the payroll system. [Its not a 'payroll system' but rather a large Excel spreadsheet application that I built for the practice manager - it handles various Hong Kong quirks. and the bonus systems that the practice uses.]

Rostering Software - Clock on component

Even better if a "clock on" component is included so that staff can check in and out with a code / PIN, thus simplifying calculation of time worked for paysheets.

Re: Rostering Software - Clock on component

Hi Jim,

Most of these online systems do have timeclock options inbuilt for this purpouse. They can be set up with varying degrees of control or sophistication (e.g. clock on only at the time, can be set to work with a webcam so people can't clock on for each other, remote or not, etc).

Rostering Software

You can start by trying out for free, downloadable verisons that are available on the web. Once you have decided what features you need, you can shortlist and approach for a free trial.

In our organization, We are using Replicon's staff roster software. It is suitable for all size business and even the smallest orgnizations can benefit from this great app. It can be integrated with payroll and other time tracking systems.

Here's the link for your reference - http://www.replicon.com/olp/rostering-software.aspx

Re: Rostering Software - Clock on component

Well, time clock is a separate machine that is fixed on office's gate, whenever employees enter, they swip their employee card..... but it is possible that payroll software is campatible with the time machine to calculate time of employees, QuickBooks has this feature as well.

Rostering Software - Deputy is the solution

Deputy is the solution we were looking for.

Re: Rostering Software - Deputy is the solution

Thanks for the input on this topic. In the end we went for shiftplanning.com . 10 months down the track we are really happy with the choice and the staff seem to have embraced it well. Still not intergrated with xero however has decreased the time spent on payroll by around 80%.
