SMS templates

Hi,

Is there capability on v1.9 to have a template for SMS?

We would like to be able to have something like a dropdown box to click on so that we can send a SMS out to clients to confirm their appt for the next day. ie. not a normal reminder via SMS which we already do.

Trevor - there is no SMS template facility akin to the Administration|Templates|Email Template facility.

I assume that by "not a normal reminder via SMS which we already do" you have already have set up and running the Administration|Job Configuration:Appointment Reminder Sender, and that you are not wanting to look at tomorrow's Appointment Schedule and use the Reminder button to send out a (presumably additional) SMS reminder to each of tomorrow's appointments.

However, you can happily use macro a macro to fill the SMS text. We used this facility prior to 1.9 - here is the English version

so you click the SMS button in the left panel, and then for the SMS text enter 'smsae 3.15pm'

Note that compared with the expression available in the SMS Appointment Reminder, you cannot access things like the appointment time - all you have is the standard macro variables like $patient.

Note also that the above text assumes that Reception is in fact looking at today's appointments and sending reminders for those. If you will be doing tomorrow's appointments then you will need to adjust the text to change 'today' to 'tomorrow'
