Upcoming upgrade of OpenVPMS website

 Dear OpenVPMS Developers,

The OpenVPMS website has developed into a thriving community hub and as the content has grown the site navigation has become bloated and fragmented.

Some improvements to the site have been in the works for a while now and are just about ready to be unleashed on the world.

In order to carry out the upgrade some downtime will be required for the site. Users will be notified of the time the site will be down via a forum post prior to the upgrade occurring.

When the site comes back online, users will be able to enjoy enhanced navigation which will be reorganised into separate user, implementor and developer areas.

A new area called My OpenVPMS will be created. This is where you will be able to access your website account, pay your OpenVPMS subscription and add or remove stuff that you monitor (eg. unread recent posts). In the future, more features will be able to be added to this new customisable area.

Downtime is expected to be a few hours.

If you experience any technical difficulties please contact me via the online contact form http://www.openvpms.org/contact

Kind regards,

Matt Young

OpenVPMS website administrator.

The OpenVPMS website will be offline from 8pm tomorrow night 20th October 2010. The site will be off-line for a few hours and should be back online by the following morning.

During this time essential work will be carried out to upgrade Drupal, the underlying management system for the OpenVPMS website.
