Uploading a new patient document and getting it to prefill details
Submitted by admin@harboursi... on Tue, 27/07/2021 - 17:07
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone can help with how to upload a document and get it to pre-fill with customer details etc. I have done up a patient admission form with open sections for customer and patient details to be prefilled. I have the information with the cheats to make it pre-fill (e.g. [openvpms:get(party:getPatientOwner(.),'name')] for the customers name), however when I upload it, it's not working...
I have made sure that the document is saved as an odt document but I still must be missing a step...
Thanks in advance.

For patient forms, the Document Template needs to have Type set to Patient Form.
When you check in, the form will be listed for printing, and will merge the customer and patient details.
You can also test your form:

Hi,
This is still what I am getting and I'm not sure why the details still aren't merging. The document template is set to patient form.
If you have any other ideas, please let me know.
Thanks,

Hi Dayna,
the image didn't attach. Can you send your template through to admin[at]openvpms[dot]org and I will take a look?

Make sure the fields are actually OpenOffice merge fields. Plain text isn't merged.
Take a look at the attached Sample Patient Document.odt template. You can copy and paste the the fields into your document and they should merge.
