Using a remote laptop

Hi. I am a new user to openvmps and am currently in the implementation stage. I was wondering if anybody can tell me the best way to access the data on the main server with a remote laptop? A significant proportion of my work is ambulatory and I want to be able to do my billing and histories in the field if possible.
Using a remote laptop
Hi,
Ther are multiple ways to access a remote server running OpenVPMS. Typically the most secure way is to setup so you can VPN (Virtual Private network) to the remote server and then you will be able to use your browser to access OpenVPMS directly just by typing in the correct address in the browser address bar i.e http://yourservername:8080/openvpms . Setting up a VPN under Windows on a laptop will require some initial setup work at the server end (dependent on server being used and your Internet router/firewall) and some relatively simple setup on the laptop.
I know of a few users who use a wireless broadband service (Telstra, 3, Optus etc) and can access OpenVPMS from anywhere.
Cheers
Tony
