Worklist Checkout issue

Hi,

We've noticed (I think since upgrade to 1.9 (7298) or maybe integration of Smart Flow Sheet), that patients aren't checking out of the worklist properly if they have an In Progress invoice.

Occasionally clinicians create multiple invoices, one of which is blank. We used to just check-out the patient from the worklist, (pay the invoice through the check-out process) and it would remove the patient from the worklist. Then once a week I would go through the WIPS list and delete any $0 In Progress invoices.

No, we can still press check-out and pay off the invoice, but the patient stays on the worklist.

Any ideas of how to fix this?

Greta

Re: Worklist Checkout issue

The zero invoices arise when a Consult is done, after the patient has been checked out. This is because a current invoice is required as part of the Consult workflow.

Its not clear from your post how you are doing the Check-Out. If Check-out is launched from the task, then it should be marked Completed on successful completion of the workflow, and will no longer appear in the worklist.

If you click Cancel in any of the windows in the check-out workflow, the workflow will end and the visit, appointment and/or task won't be completed.

If a window has a Cancel button and you click [x] in the top right hand corner, that is also treated as a cancel.

If you launch Check-out from the appointment, and the patient has a task that wasn't created during Check-In, then the task will stay in the worklist. This is because tasks not created as part of Check-In are independent of the appointment.

Is anyone else finding this is still happening?

We are apparently having an issue

Amanda - you do not state whether "having an issue" means that you are getting $0 invoices, or having tasks left incomplete after checkout.

In either case, I suspect that the best approach is for you (or your assignee) to closely watch what staff do - and in particular watch for people killing windows by pressing the Red X at the top left.

If your staff all login as themselves (rather than all as Nurse or Reception), then it would be possible to get more 'who did this' information by making the author of the transaction display on the screen by temporally tweaking the archetypes to display the Author.
