No reminder

Some clients request no reminder (aged totally indoor cat, or relative who is a vet and does vaccinations, etc). It would be nice to actually have "No Reminder" in the reminder field. How can I set this up ?

RE: No reminder

Hi Jim,

You can eliminate the reminder by setting it's status to cancelled which maintains a record of the reminder being generated but stops any reminder processing.

This is obviously a manual override. I assume what you are actually wanting is some indicator on the customer to say that they don't want reminders and consequently some automatic way that the application will not generate reminders from billing events ?

Not something the application currently supports but worthwhile adding to the JIRA if community thinks it is a common requirement.

Cheers Tony

Set due to Zero

I make this suggestion with some fear of recrimination from those more knowledgeable Jim but I would create an alternative vaccination item code that didn't carry with it a reminder period but which would still generate a certificate. Technically, when the stock control module is implemented (how many of us have put our hand up to help generate ideas for this?) this will create 2 items drawing down on the same pool of stock but I think it would work perfectly well in the meantime. Peter Actually, just went to demonstration program and created a new irem called "Vaccination canine 5 No reminder" (I'm sure there is a much more elegant name than this) that I have nominated as an equivalent to another item "Vaccination - Canine 5" and I'm guessing this may allow us to treat them as the same stock item eventually. Not sure though.

New reminder type

I decided just to invent a new reminder "NO REMINDER REQUIRED" with a time period of 20 years, hopefully this is OK.

Reminders with no reminders

Hi Jim, By creating your 20 year reminder you still have to link it to a product right? Can you spell out what product reminders you are trying to avoid a reminder in? With respect to Petes comment, we at Boronia have several clients that dont get reminders. They have their own products for those that would normally have reminders associated with them. eg. Mr Jones doesn't want reminders but wants to have all his dogs vaccinated. We give them the vaccination, but instead of billling "DOG VACCINATION ANNUAL" we bill "DOG VACCINATIO NO REMINDER". This second product has no reminders associated with it. Down sides: 1. Inventory is split and therefore needs to be added together manually during stocktake (this issue came up in our recent Vic Users meeting in regards to Large animal practice and different types of the same drugs). 2. Reporting is made more difficult. So until as Tony suggests, that some clients can be ear marked to "Automatically Cancel all reminders" this wont be possible any other way. What about this Tony? Currently deceased animals will automatically Cancel their reminders when a run is made. What if we could define a Patient group that the Patient could be a member of that performed the same behavior? Cheers, Matt
