[Product Module] Drug label improvement ?

One HUGE improvement would be display of a) Patients current WEIGHT and b) Medication / Product dose rate(s). This would enable easy calculations of required dose & choice of tablet size. (On reflection drug dose rate could be written into drug label, but may result in label printer going over end of label. Weight would still be very useful. It would not need to be printed onto the drug label. This has the potential to save vast amounts of time looking up dose rates in drug formularies).

drug labels

In our experience we would always go back to the animal history when prescribing more drugs so the label wouldn't need to have that info on it but my understanding is that there are editing tools that you can use to change what is essentially a label "document" to contain whatever you want. Maybe Tony or Matt can answer that one for us.

Hi Jim, On latest version (1.1) the patient weight is displayed in the title bar of the drug label dialogue. Dosage rates are a very good idea. Initially we can provide a text field where these can be entered in the medication product and we could display these in the bottom section of the dialogue. In subsequent releases we could enhance this to allow species specific, weight /dosage values to be specified per product and automatically calculate the desired dosage based on the patient and weight values. I will Jira the first solution now as this is very simple to implement. We will need more input on the second solution so I request users provide some feedback on how this should work. Cheers Tony
