Victorian User Community Meeting Wednesday 30th April 2008

Hi everyone, Several people will have already received this correspondence via email but just so I don't forget anyone, I thought I would post a message here as well. For some time now we have thought it would be valuable to get all the existing users of OpenVPMS in Victoria talking. The WA users will soon have their group off the ground and we don't to fall behind! To these ends we have been hoping to get together and with the recent official release of Version 1.1 it seemed the perfect time. The get together would be extremely casual (read as coffee and biscuits!) and intended to be a loosely moderated round table discussion covering the following agenda; OpenVPMS How many sites are there now? How many are intended? The users Introduction to the other Melbourne users? How might a users group be a useful resource for you guys with regards to support? How have we been using the program - typical usage and individual tweaks people have applied? What has Version 1.1 changed? What have we found useful about the program? What would we change and what would be great to see in the future? The IT minded people What is in the future versions? How might the graphical scheduling get off the ground? Where? Sam Snelling (Advanced Vet Care) has kindly offered to hold the meeting at his amazing facility in Kensington. He was one of the earliest Open VPMS users. Level 1 26 Robertson Street Kensington 3031 - just off CityLink at Racecourse Road/Flemington Road. http://www.advancedvetcare.com.au/directionsandmap As Sam has limited capacity RSVP'ing is essential. If you have already RSVP'd to me via email, don't worry about responding to this post. This should be an excellent way for us to get more from the software, so I hope to see you all there. Time for Vic Users Meeting

Hi Bruce, Yes sorry about that the time was left of this forum post - Here are a copy of the details I recently sent out via email to some Victorian users; When: Wednesday 30th April 2008 7.30pm The location: Advanced Vet Care Level 1 26 Robertson Street Kensington 3031 - just off CityLink at Racecourse Road/Flemington Road. http://www.advancedvetcare.com.au/directionsandmap Capacity is limited so a RSVP prior to attending would be very much appreciated. My thanks for bringing that to my attention :( Matt

Thanks

Many thanks to Matt and Tony for presenting the meeting last night and to Sam for hosting. The stage of development is much more advanced than I appreciated from the web demo, where it appears that the "Guest" login has access to none of the administration functions that really help to demonstrate the power and capability of the application. The current features of the 1.1 release already appear exceed the capability of the system we currently use. Now I've just got to install a local demo, load it with our data and let all of us here have a closer look - to be continued... John Ryan Timboon
