adding new patient

Can a patient be added to the demo version here? as I am having trouble doing so.

Yes, patients can be added and there are a number of ways to do it. If you have selected or just added a customer you can click on the Patients->Information workspace and hit New. Fill in the patient details and then save and the patient will automatically be connected via a owner relationship to he current customer. An alternatively in the customer edit screen is to select the Patients tab, select Patient Owner in the drop down and click Add (or Alt-A). Next click on the search icon next to patient prompt which opens up the patient search dialogue and then click New. Add the patient and save and the save the customer details. The above approach is how you can add a location rather than owner customer. It is also how you can connect an existing patient to the customer. It is worthwhile noting that a patient can only have one active owner and location for a particular date range. In the second approach you would have noticed a start and end date range to stipulate the period over which the relationship is valid. If a patient has an existing owner or location and a new one is created for that patient the previous ones end date is set to today and the new one becomes the active relationship. You can view previous relationships in the customer and patient information screens by unchecking the "Hide Inactive" check box. Also note that when adding appointments and tasks in workflow you can add a new customer and patient during the workflow. I hope this helps. Regards Tony
