Add Clients

HI

I was wondering yet again about something.

In our old system when you were adding a new client (even if you have already asked them if they have been here before and they say NO.) if it turns out they have - a message use to appear as you were add " this client is already on the data base do you wish to continue adding".
Is it possible for this feature to be avaliable on openvpms to stop the doubling up of client details.

Re: Add Clients

Hi Jocelyn,

Duplicate client detection is a great idea and a good feature of other software. We encourage our staff to search by 4 letters of Last Name and 4 letters of patient name and we find duplicates often that way. What other criteria would be appropriate? Should it check for matches between; - phone numbers and animal names? - addresses?

We recently ran a duplicate check using those 3 criteria and as a result have been merging customers we have detected as duplicates. It seems since having the patient+customer search capacity the number of duplicates has decreased considerably.

Cheers, Matt

Hi Jocelyn,Sandra kindly put together some documentation on how to download the report from the web site and setup the report template.  You can read it here://www.openvpms.org/documentation/how-use-report-downloaded-community-shared-resources-area">http://www.openvpms.org/documentation/how-use-report-downloaded-community-shared-resources-area CheersTony
