add an estimations tab to the visit editor

For 1.7 I would like to see an estimations tab added to the visit editor. It would display all estimations for the current patient and allow you to add an estimate, invoice an estimate, etc during a visit.

Re: add an estimations tab to the visit editor
I think this would be good. It would also make each estimate patient specific rather than client specific. An option to transfer the estimate to an invoice would make it very user friendly.
Re: add an estimations tab to the visit editor
I've created a project for this here: http://www.openvpms.org/project/add-estimates-tab-visit-editor

Re: add an estimations tab to the visit editor
This would make https://openvpms.atlassian.net/browse/OVPMS-1299 redundant, wouldn't it?
And please, let's call them by their proper term - "estimates", not "estimations".

Re: add an estimations tab to the visit editor
OVPMS-1299 is a change to display the patient summary whilst editing invoice/estimate items.
Currently, none of the information is available in summary form via the visit editor, so I don't think it is redundant.
A mockup screenshot can be found here: http://www.openvpms.org/project/display-patient-summary-information-when....
And from 1.7, the GUI will display Estimates and Estimate Items :)

Re: add an estimations tab to the visit editor
But if "Estimates" moves to a tab on the Visit Editor, the patient summary information panel would be visible on the left side of the screen, wouldn't it?

Re: add an estimations tab to the visit editor
Estimates would still be accessible from Customers, so if you are performing estimates involving multiple patients, it would still be useful.

Re: add an estimations tab to the visit editor
Just to stir you up Yuri,
Isn't an estimation the process of creating an estimate. If this is the case, then either term would be correct because the workspace is an area where estimates are created.
An incomplete estimate is actually an estimation in progress.

ps. it really doesn't bother me either way. I am happy to call it estimates.
Re: add an estimations tab to the visit editor
Hi Matt
LOL, I'll bite!
An estimation is an expression of opinion or judgement of character: for example "no politician has risen in my estimation this year". You don't say "no politician has risen in my estimate this year."
A builder (or vet!) gives you an estimate for work to be done: he/she is giving you a rough opinion on the monetary value, physical requirements or time required.
Typical usage demonstrating the difference: "My painter gave me an estimate on how many hours he'd need to paint my waiting room. In his estimation, the previous painter exhibited poor workmanship."
