Anyone implemented new SMS system well ?

Has anyone implemented the new SMS reminder system well ? We would be keen to talk as we would like to use but wonder how to deal with multi pet multi reminder situations. For example a pet owner with 3 dogs, all getting vac and Proheart inj (that is 6 separate reminders possibly at the same time). I suspect 6 simultaneous SMS's would annoy. Any suggestions ?

We do use SMS but only for certain reminders .  We use them for intestinal worming and flea tick reminders.  

The vacc/hw reminders are still sent via email primarily.

So I assume:

1) It is possible to set some reminders to go to SMS and others alternative methods ?

2) You are using the new Open VPMS SMS function and not an alternative ?

Please advise.

Answer to 

1) Depends what you mean - if a reminder is set to have an sms option by setting its SMS flag

 see http://www.openvpms.org/documentation/csh/1.8/admin/type/reminderType

then yes it will go to SMS if the client has an mobile flagged to recieve SMS

If they dont - then it will go by what ever contact either location or email has the reminder flag. 

2)Yes we are using OpenVPMS's sms function via Clickatell
