Changing statuses and moving patients/appointments between schedules/lists

Hi everyone again,

Shortcut keys
Recently an OpenVPMS user asked me why you couldn't change a status of a vist/invoice using a shortcut key. I said there are many shortcuts we would like to have, but its early days. On further thought, I reckon he might be right. There are some actions we would perform thousands of times per week and in some clinics, per day! Status changing is certainly one of them. But how to have a shortcut key for something which can have several values? ie. Pending, In Progress, Billed etc etc

One solution may be to have a shortcut key that moves the selection through the list. Another option might be to have a small  numbered list pop up which can be chosen from using a numeric key. Furthermore, this type of functionality would be great not only in the dialogs (such as when editing an invoice) but also when a appointment is selected and you want to change its status without entering the whole appointment editing dialog.

I was wondering what actions do other users perform frequently using OpenVPMS that you would love to have a shortcut key for?

Moving patients between lists
My staff love the Worklist "Transfer" button. They use it to move patients/customers/tasks from our Surgery to Hospital. But there is no equivalent function for moving from a schedules to a worklist. The "Check-In" button does that normally. But it doesn't work well in two contexts;
a) The appointment has already been "Checked-In" (The "Check-In" button becomes "Check-Out" when this has happened).
b) You dont want to go through adding a printing documents, editing a visit, entering a weight. You just want to transfer it straight into the Worklist.

For this I would suggest having a "Transfer" button in Schedules as well allowing users to move appointments between schedules and to turn appointments into tasks within a worklist.

NB. Adding a patient to a worklist from a schedule currently
I have seen many staff admit animals to our Hospital Worklist using this technique;
1. Select Patient from Worklist (click on blue underlined patient link).
2. Go to Workflow
3. Select list that they want to add to.
4. Click New
5. Add patient.

The quicker way is to;
1. Select Patient from Worklist (click on blue underlined patient link).
2. Select "Information" within Patients.
3. Click "Check-In"
etc etc
