Customized Template Pricing

One of the things that I constantly run up against is the idea that for a Template I want a custom price structure. Typically for some stuff, we Zero off each line item price add a custom line item fee, and only print the aggregate. However, the problem I see with this method is it will look like you are selling stuff below cost on some reports.
Ideally, templates would allow more than just current price v zero - the idea of a custom unit / fixed price would be ideal ...or if not the idea of applying a discount/premium to an item within a template either at a monetary rate or a percentage.
Thoughts?

I also noted that if I, using a template, enter a max quantity of 1 item - any dose rate for a product will override that max....ie if the dose rate calculates at 6 ...it will be added with 6 as the qty.

From a reporting perpsective, you can see if a product has been generated from a template as the parent template it came from is stored with the invoice item.
The custom unit/fixed price is best handled by including a product in the template whose sole purpose is for that task. To ensure this, tick the Use only in Templates flag on the product.
You can apply a discount or premium using Service Ratios.
With regard to templates and product doses; if a product has doses these will always override the template.
We could potentially add an 'Override Dose' flag to the template Include to override this behaviour.
