Humm - depends -if this was a client that you had done business with (ie there were invoices etc), then you not have been able to actually delete the customer - and you would have got a message box saying ..has relationships cannot delete (see http://www.openvpms.org/documentation/csh/1.7/customer/information/delete ) and you would have had to deactivate rather than delete.
In this case you need to search for deactivated customers and they should appear, then tick their Active box and they will re-appear.
If the customer did not have invoices etc, then you have really deleted them and you cannot get them back - but there should be very few details to re enter.
Note also that if the customer had a patient - but nothing else, no invoices, no nothing - then you cannot delete them, only deactive them - because of the relationship with the patient.
My guess is that you have in fact deactivated the customer rather than deleted them.

Lyn - my son is also a mobile vet. For a number of years he has used a Canon ip100 printer in the car. For customers who are happy to have emailed invoices, there is an 'Email Invoice' customer alert defined in the system, and this is set for those customers. So when he is entering stuff after the visit, the left panel shows whether he needs to print the invoice or can email it. Of course, if you don't run the laptop with an internet connection in the car, you will not be able to email it while you are at the customer's premises.
Re: Deleted client
If the client had patients and/or invoices, then they will have been deactivated rather than deleted. In this case:
1. click on Customers - Information - Select
2. in Search, enter the customer name
3. for Active, click No
4. click Find
If the customer has been deactivated, they should be listed. You can then edit the customer and tick their Active check box.
If they had no patients or invoices, then you'll need to extract the data from a backup.
Re: Deleted client
Yes you are right.
Thankyou for your help.
I found the client and patient.
First time it's ever happened to me.
So I had no idea.
Must happen a lot with a few different staff using the program

Re: Deleted client
Thanks to you too Tim.
I don't use openVPMS for invoices because I am a mobile vet.
Just not feasible to generate & print out invoices/receipts on the road.
It's going to be a steep learning curve when I start a clinic
