Prompt for Follow Up Appointment

A vet has requested me to sound out the idea of forcing a prompt at the end of a consult to create a follow up appointment.

What they specifically would like is the ability for the vet when they are finishing a consult to send a message to the receptionist that this patient needs a follow up appointment in 10 days time to recheck the ears for example.

In their mind it would work like this:

- Vet writes their notes and bills

- Before the vet can exit the patient medical record/invoice (i.e. the edit visit screen) they are forced to specify if a follow up appointment is required. If yes then it asks when/what for.

- Client goes to reception and on checkout the receptionist is presented with a prompt that says when the followup appointment is required. Perhaps they would even already be on the "Free Appointment Slots" screen that is to come in 1.8.

What do people think? Is this a worthwhile idea? Would anyone else use this facility? Is the workflow idea sound? Is it possible to implement?
